If you're visiting this blog, you're aware of Gerry's upcoming surgery & recovery. We thought that this might be the best way to provide daily updates that answer questions our caring friends would ask. Of course you can call or email us. We just can't guarantee how well we'll handle correspondence over the next month. Feel free to post comments here, if you'd like. We'd love to get word from you!
Thanks for sharing our triumphs & struggles!

Gerry's first surgery was December 8th.
He had a boli, (a blood-blister-like thing), and a tumor removed.
At the time of the surgery, the tumor was deemed "benign".
That was unbelievably great news!
The surgeon "stitched Gerry back up" and told him that he was very, very lucky.
Gerry looked great after the surgery.
Whatever they did for him was good. His color & spirits were better.
He healed well, celebrated a quiet Christmas & New Year's
and started back to work on January 6th.
What we didn't know was that the pathologists that looked at the tumor
thought that something was weird about it even though the "reading" was benign.
They asked for further testing.
One month and one day after the surgery his doctors had the misfortune of calling
to tell him that it has been discovered that the tumor is cancerous.
He will have to go back to the operating table to have 60% of his lung removed.
The surgery is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd at 12:30.
Already there are so many of you lifting Gerry, (and us), in prayer,
wishing us well, asking to help and just giving out hugs.
That's VERY cool! Thank you!
We will accept all your good thoughts, generous requests and affection
as graciously as possible.
You make a difference in our lives. We really can't thank you enough.
Love,
Gerry, Korina, Christie & Josie
